Wristband Rundown

WristbandCharity wristbands have become the most surprising fashion must-have item of this year. Displaying your support for various charities on your wrist is the new trend for celebrities all over the planet, and the public is quickly following suit. We don't really advocate buying the bands on eBay (you never know whether you're making a charity donation or not - please buy from the original source when you can) but we know, despite our best efforts, people will continue to bid on them. So here's an overview of some of the charity bands you can pick up on eBay. Some of the proceeds (supposedly) go to the charities in question, others appear not to. Those of you with a conscience should check the auctions very carefully before bidding.

Support Kylie with this fetching pink breast cancer care band, as worn by Nicole Kidman. Other cancer charity bands available include Child Cancer Awareness and Cancer Research UK.

For animal lovers, there's a lilac Animal Rescue band.

With the announcement of the acts for the forthcoming 'Live 8' concerts, supporting the Make Poverty History campaign is easy with the official white bands (also available at Oxfam shops) or by putting the banner on your website.

Other wristbands that are available include the original blue anti-bullying band, Tsunami Relief bands, Save Our Earth bands and World Orphan Week bands.

More bands can be found here, and with most bands selling for under £2, you can support a charity and display your heart on your wrist in one fell swoop. And at least you know that even if your donation is not going to the charity, wearing the band itself shows the world your support for a good cause. Bid now; awareness is everything.
