Strange James Dean doodle

Jamesdeandoodle

This is a weird eBay find. It's an original blue ball point pen drawing by James Dean done in 1954 in NYC. The drawing depicts a person and an animal. It's seemingly a cat... and a naked person up to no good. This drawing came from the personal collection of Geraldine Page who co-starred with Dean in the Broadway play "The Immoralist".

Dean and Page became quite close at that time and Geraldine gathered up and saved several sketches that James Dean had done during rehearsals for the play. This is the first time that this drawing is being offered for sale to the public and it has never been published. Size 3"x5" on cream colored paper. A couple of small soil spots and the paper had been folded in half at one time. Otherwise, it's in good condition. From the archives of The James Dean Gallery Museum Collection in Indiana. Comes with a letter of authenticity from James Dean archivist David Loehr. Click here to make a bid.
